[ もうぐったりだ!今日の漢字の話を日本語で伝えたかったから、これは2時間ぐらいかかったポストです!日本語の間違いがありませんように!] ^^;
I have been looking for a Kanji representation for my name for some time ago. I tried many combinations but i liked none of them. Until I came up with the kanji combination shown in the picture above.
The upper kanji can be read as AMA and the lower as NI. But this word is actually read as TENJITSU which means sunshine or sunlight ( i like the meaning but it's not read as my name).
Putting the Furigana as あまに forces the reading to be AMA NI. ^^
Ni is also used in NIHON = Japan. That's why i liked this part of the name.
The Japanese part of this post took near 2 hours..and there might also be mistakes!
While i wrote this english translation in less than 1 minute!
Well I hope more practice will result in less time soon!^^;

上手ですね、てんぴさん!
面白かったです。
fufufuf,,, 甘煮(あまに boil in sugar) はどうでしょうか? ふふふ。
天日は普通、「てんぴ」と読みますが、振り仮名をつけたら「あまに」と読めますね。
Usually we read "tenpi" for 天日、but if you put the furigana "amani" , we can read it properly. Well,,, I hope... :)
saemon san,
3.9.! well i gave it a try!But spending near 2 hours to write a few lines is a disaster i think^^;
これからも、頑張ります。
hiro san,
lool i don't wana be boiled in sugar, kekkou desu! :D
seems the TENPI reading is more common than TENJITSU.
It's not a disaster. you have to begin somewhere and with practice you will move away from 2 hours and get closer to one minute.
By the way, do you plan on participating in next year's speech contest? This time around its compulsory to write our own speeches in Japanese, so I think it will be a good exercise.
Yep, I'm thinking to participate...do you have it's information sheet?(the one that states the rules and speech topics)
I don't know of any information sheets, but I know the speech topics.
I'll e-mail them to you shortly.
Amani san
