Just came back after I attended the opening of the Japan week in the University of Jordan.
It was really wonderful, and I was really looking forward to see the SOURANBUSHI ^^ It was really awesome.
I was also surprised by the singing of the "sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana" song, because it's my favorite!! And it reminds me of my first year in the university because it was then when I first heard it.
The martial arts part was cool too^^
In short, I had a nice day. Sorry there are no pictures, I spent the day taking videos of the performances ^^;

ah, I couldn't come because I have work till six. I will try to take a few hours leave tomorrow for booth day, but maybe i can't TOO BUSY!
By the way, I saw souran bushi on youtube, and when I saw it, i immediately understood where those 'henshin' gestures in 'arrajul alhadeedi' and power rangers came from....

souranbushi is awesome, you can say that I went there specifically for it.(because when we were in Japan, they were planning to perform it for us but that day i was tired and returned to my room and missed it T_T sad story)

i'm lucky cause i don't have lectures on Wednesday this semester :) and the first day of JW was on Wedensday! how lucky!
I hear souran bushi is sang in old hebrew language, and many Jewesh people can understand it without translation. There is a theory that Jewish people came to Japan long long time ago and told the song to the ancient Japanese. Some Jewesh people believe Japan and Jew cultures are very connected.
the lyric of soranbushi is actually old hebrew. that is why no modern japanese can understand the meaning now.

Japanese KANA is derived from Chinese Kanji. Don't copy-paste from the internet without having any background about the subject.
And this theory you are talking about is an example for what people would call NONSENSE...(I saw a lot of sites on this and the arguments were disgustingly non-convincing)

ok, now i'm not so lucky! after i wrote the comment i went to attend my micropro lecture, and the teacher said that he will give lecture in Saturday @ 12!! :'(
and for the Iric for the song, and why modern japanese can't translate it, i asked m-sensei about that and she said that it contains some old japanese words, and some of them are just sounds that the fishermen use when they do their work just for giving themselves the power. It's not Hebrew, absolutely!

And to think that there are people that follow each blog trying to make a connection between hebrew and japanese, it's ridiculous.
Regarding the issue of connection between Japanese and other languages.
I researched a lot about the subject and it seems very far fetched to me.
The Kana comparison image is dubious and having searched for images of real old hebrew letters, this seems like a case of trying to create a link between things that are not connected at all.
The kana-kanji origins are much clearer and much more convincing and are the ones we as Japanese langauge teachers teach and the ones that Japanese people do too.
Remebering that Japanese language was written completely in kanji and it would be the logical root for the kana system and not another completely different language. Also kana as a system of writing is relatively new so I don't think the connection is true
Many dispute the origins of japanese language and although there are many theories, this origin theory is not a strong one at all.
I have also read that in languages it is very statistically possible to find similar words in abundance, and that does not mean that there is a real connection. I read that our minds are naturally prone to pattern making and comparison and that makes many such comparisons between languages decptive and misleading.
Also the fact is that we are all human and the sounds we make from our mouths are limited by our the anatomic structure of our speech organs, similarities will surely arise.
Regarding soran-bushi, i think that is also a case of trying to match things up for a certain purpose, and falls in the realm of occult and consiperacy theories in my opinion.
I think that this deserves a deeper amount of research as i am still very poor in knowledge.

MY LOGIC IS INFALLIBLE!!
Although I believe there was a strong connection with Israel in old Japan, more research will be required to prove it..
Apart from the kana origin,
