A Samurai without a master

Mission successfully completed.
In the previous post I put the daruma doll with 1 painted eye to show my commitment for doing my best for my last final exams.

The daruma doll with 2 painted eyes.

I just returned from my last exam, and painted the other eye (on Adobe Photoshop of course, since I don't have a real one :p).
It feels strange knowing that I wont be going to the university as usual.
1 visit is left for JUST while I am still considered a student, that's when I go to get my graduation certificate.

Now I became like a master-less wandering samurai .. ww

But the Kanji storm is coming soon! I'm planning to boost up my kanji during my free time..another daruma san needed? ... I am going to need a lot of them from now on ..lol(^▽^)

To talk a little about the doll you see in the picture for those who feel clueless ; Daruma dolls are hollow and round Japanese dolls with no arms or legs.
They are heavy on the bottom and bounce back when tipped over, so they have become a symbol of optimism, good fortune and strong determination.

Usually they are sold without the eyeballs painted in. People paint in one eye when they set out a goal and paint in the other one when they have achieved the goal.

Sayounara J.U.S.T. (T_T)

Long time no post. I have been lazy to post anything lately, even though ALOT OF THINGS that are worth posting happened.

J.U.S.T.
My university was designed by a very very famous Japanese Architect; Kenzo Tange
He has a lot of world-wide recognized works

Starting with the fresh news :

I had my last lecture ever at JUST this Tuesday.
Yesterday (Wednesday 9th of January) was the last official day for lectures/lessons and it was the day for graduation seminars . Some of my friends had seminars yesterday, so we -the senpai s who already did their seminars last semester - attended for support! Actually it reminded me of our seminar day in MAY 2007.
So now the final exams period has started..and this time they will be my last final exams as a JUST student. I only have two; on the 16th and 17th of this month.

University looks sooo empty at the last day
This was our favorite hangout place- C square
寂しそう~!

Computer Engineering Class of 2003 poster and the graduation cards
(These card are placed for graduating students each year so friends/professors/teachers can write their wishes of luck and success for students )

I never thought the day when i will have my own card will come!
ふふふ!「Engineer」と書いてある!

Now everyone has time to go out and have fun after seminars are over! ^_^
Yesterday in ViaVia cafe - Irbid mall

Congratulations for finishing the Graduation Projects everyone!
There will be another big go-out party after the finals! \(^o^)/

And now, for the older news :

I am very thankful for Y. san, T. sensei and O. sensei for attending our J.U.S.T. Japanese language class last Thursday, 3rd of January.
That was my last nihongo lecture. I am glad that students has learned alot.
Actually I didn't think that we will go that far in nihongo when i first though to open the class.

A view of the class with our guests
Thanks Dr. Abu 3ein for attending too :)

gakusei VS sensei !
Center workshop announcements in the background and our class announcement is there

Pictures with students who participated in the skits

Done by our great MANGAKA Ru2a san.

So it's over! Actually this semester was very fast, I wasn't particularly busy at any time other than exam times.
This was a VERY special semester-especially the last part of it.
Now some people can say that they studied nihongo in IRBID during a whole semester! (^o^)y

Congrats Everyone!
卒業おめでとう !! (^_^)y

日本語 (にほんご : nihongo) class times

The new class times for the Japanese language course are every Tuesday and Thursday with two sections :

1) 11:15~12:45
2) 2:15~3:45

You can choose the section that suits your time.
And for those who asked about a 3rd section for Mondays and Wednesdays, there will be one inshalla after mid November.

...How popular nihongo can become sometimes! (笑)

My first Japanese class

Today i started giving the Japanese language course in J.U.S.T.
What can i say, things went far better than i expected!^^ I could see a great interest in the language. I even found some people who have a light background about the language because they watch Anime or J-drama and participating with what they learned from them.

In todays section, 40 or more students attended the class.
The topics were : writing systems, daily life and class expressions. I used both hiragana and romaji for the expressions since i didnt teach hiragana in detail yet. This will be the topic of the next class..

Using hiragana before totally teaching it to students,as i believe, is useful. This way they will come to the next class with some background about hiragana that was learned from the expressions.
One active student actually wrote his name from the hiragana he collected from the expressions we used and showed it to me.

Actually there is something crazy about me : I love teaching Japanese language very much, and when i start i can hardly stop. For example, today after the actual class time ended, some students who had lectures left. Others who had no lectures stayed and asked for more, and i gave like 30minutes more..but i had to stop after that because i had to leave for my network security lecture. i would continue if i didn't have that lecture :p

My Japanese is not perfect. But i think my level is enough to teach a beginner and lower intermediate course...
I'm taking this class seriously, it's a great responsibility and i want everyone to benefit from it. I will utilize all the tools i have to deliver correct and accurate information.
I'm enjoying it, students are enjoying it, それは何よりです!
Let's see how many more students we can add to the growing nihongo learners community in Jordan! (^_^)y

It's official! (^_^)

Starting from Sunday 21st of October, I will start giving a free beginner Japanese Language class in the CSDC (Civil Society Development Center) in J.U.S.T.
Classes are Sunday,Tuesday,Thursday from 11:00 to 1:00 pm.

This is the poster that I designed, very similar to the one designed by the center except that I added the chibi maruko chan image and the "k-chan" logo.
This is not my first experience teaching Japanese language as I have individually taught some friends who were interested. Also in my training office, I gave some lectures for 4 or 5 students but it didn't continue because most students finished their training period.
I'm looking forward to start the new class!(^_^)

新しい学期が始まります::A new semester starts

Today my last semester in J.U.S.T. started. I was a little gloomy today so i did'nt go (-_-)
This time i only have 2 courses. I hope it will be a light semester....but i will still continue my training along with the courses...it will end by the end of october.

The previous 2 days, I hosted a homestay for one of the Japanese delegation members (Mari san).
We had loads of fun and she had experienced Ramadan and life in Irbid.

I'm a little frustrated because i want my Japanese conversational skills to be better. When i speak japanese, i always need to switch to english at some point.(T_T)
..anyway, i'm thinking to open a free japanese language course in my university. i will see if this can work or not! i hope it will^^

ただいま!!::K-chan is back! Report 1: The Seminar

4th year is finally over! yo minasan! tadaima!! \(^o^)/
Today was my last final exam. For those who are interested, the subject was Image processing. I did good but not perfect.
lets start from oldest 2 newest news :

-Our graduation seminar was good from our side (our=we the group)! We called ourselves "Team roboTECH". i guess its a nice name! n here is our logo (designed by me, all rights reserved! :p )

i just checked the marks, it was an A. But i was disappointed by the way the seminar was held. I mean, its sad how a student works for a whole year for his graduation project to ,at last, give him only 20 minutes to present everything!! that's totally unfair. Im sure the commitee did not understand 70% of the efforts done. One professor of the comitte was totally mean. X(

I believe the mark was not fair too. If i knew the seminar would have been so, i would have been less stressed about it.(and probably wouldn't have killed myself working for it! ) (O_o)
I believe our university is great. Im proud to be a J.U.S.T. student. Yet i believe some things must be changed! I hope to contribute this change one day!

Any way here are some pictures regarding the graduation project :

Our robot. We used a toy car to build an intelligent robot that can explore areas and come out with a map for the area.It can avoid obstacles.
Don't want to go through more details cuz i know they will be boring to read!

Team roboTECH happy after the seminar with robot san. I'm to the left!

More news to come soon in the next post, i dont want to make this post longer than this! (^_^;)

The slowest 5 days / 試験中の誕生日

Can't believe my schedule only has 2 tasks left! XD I have been keeping this word file since the beginning of this busy semester, and add tasks/assignments/exams/homeworks to it. And it feels good to erase a task every day! (^o^)

Only 5 days remaining..i'll see them as 5 years!!

And yea! today is 29/5! this means im already 21 years old!(O_o)
happy birthday to me! (^_^) mattaku never had my birthday free of exams..neither in school days nor in university days!(T_T)

3rd JUNE k-chan returns! look forward for the new posts! (^o^)y

Busy to the limits!! :: チョ忙しい!

Long time no post! waaaaaaaaaaaaaa~~~~!! i am very busy these days. You'll find me in either one of 3 states : studying on my desk, sleeping on my bed or eating(for no more than 5 min)...and today i allowed myself 3 minutes to write this post! =D
I have this graduation project that is taking my whole time! .. i'm even started to get degraded performance in other courses. (MUCH DEGRADED PERFORMANCE actually)

Anyway, everyone, wish me luck! and wish our little robot project luck too! (^_^,)y
It's only this semester! its like the final battle! i'll do my best!

See ya in another post (and i doubt that this will be soon LOL ) (-_-;)

first semester, DONE!

Time really passes so quickly! i cant believe that i'll be doing my graduation seminar this coming semester!
i still remeber my first day at university! the first lecture hall, the first syllabus and the first people i met!
how cute -and EASY by the way:p - being a sanfoor was! =D

Now being a 80%Engineer also feels so good! But we all still have lots to do before we have the right to call ourselves engineers.
Its those hard sleepless times under the pressure of projects and deadlines.
Those things that make one a fine engineer.
What im saying here is that after going through the experience of being a 4th year student(only 1st semester :p ), i realized that this is THE YEAR that will test wheather you deserve this title or not.
And i quote here one sentence that i hear many times from prof.s that i respect so much :
"being an Engineer is a responsibility before being an honor, you have to make sure you are up to it".
thats right, engineers have to have great respect to Time, commitment, hardwork and ofcourse ethics!
I believe that the profs of our department are the best among all other departments! ( ^_')b
CPE rocks! =D

...well actually this wasnt the reason why i started a new post! seems that i got carried away with the engineering world!
anyway, this semester (with all its projects) is over. My finals werent as good as i wanted them to be. seems i consumed all my powers during the projects period and came into the finals exhausted..
anyway, our grad project continues! hardware components are starting to finally reach Jordan from the US. But thanx to the $%^% arabic bank and queen Alia airport who are wasting our time and money in useless procedures like their airheads!! >=(

k-chan logs out!

Finally!! projects are over!! XD

well finally things are coming to an end! i feel my head became lighter than before!lool projects are finally over. (except the graduation project, which is supposed to be finished next semester).
Still one more obstacle before the end of this semester comes...wut else other than the finals!! but well, i assume finals are just a nice vacation compared to the hell-like projects..

Today i had an Interfacing lab final exam..i never did as bad as i did today , really!!
And i discovered that this LAB sucks!! its useless! i learned nothing new other than developing new wire wrapping skills!:p Thank God its over,,,im very worried how much will i get out of 100 though! X(

Also today we did a presentation for the useless Project Management course..and because of it, i couldnt attend the Networks additional lecture! ='( Today was really an out-of-control day! nothing went as planned! Anyway, the coming week is free and im planning to burn myself studying for the finals!!

BIG NEWS!! : This year's Japanese speech contest topics are finally announced. I'm going to participate this year! hope i'll do great n hope u'll come!!

See you in another post! =D

Kーちゃん:チョ忙しい、チョ悲しい

The last week was such a killing week for me ..loads of work was supposed to be done, alot of hours were spent, no more than 4 hours maximum sleep/day,got sick several times.....and had the most sad teary experience ever because of my dear pet hamster sad death that i'll never ever be able to 4get. ='(

Not going through the sad details, let's just talk about the happy things: The results of the continuous work were just great. We all worked as a team and came up with a great simulator for the hypothetical CPE471 machine. I'm really happy we accomplished this. (Thanks to MSN messenger, we could all stay together until hours like 5:00am with continuous work)
Next step will be the ASSEMBLER. Hope we'll learn from the mis-management issues that rised during work for the simulator.

For the gradutaion project, we almost went through selecting the parts, soon ordering will start.

Our nice computer engineering faculty building

2 new projects poped up from no where! The networks project & the simualtion project. I guess both should be relatively simple.

A nice view of the E2 wing.

For the project management course project...(>_<) ahem! i even have no idea wut the hell we r supposed to do!!n i'm not so much interested actually.. For the interfacing lab, things are going cool somehow hardly..i don't have much time for this lab the way i used to have for the old friend micro lab. + it's so much mismanaged! the TA has been changed 3 or 4 times now! + the usual lack of appropriate components....u'd always hear something like this: "Eng.! this socket is so large for this chip!",the usual reply:"just deal with it for today,u'll get new ones after..."

A picture taken in the interfacing lab
Left board: Flight board.
Right board: applications board:only used to perform the first 15 experiments in the manual(first 2 labs),just to become familiar with the kit.Not used now.

Enough for today. Hope i'll be able to update this blog more frequently.Actually i have loads of ideas, but i lack time.
see u in another post.
夢の中でまた会いましょうね、かわいいチビちゃん、、、

四年の戦いが始まる!-The 4th year battle is starting..

It has been a long time since i last placed a post here.
Ramadan & Eid are over, tomorrow we'll be back to the university after 10 days vacation..but this time, back with the official class hours!(ya3ni 1hour/1:30 hour lectures and 3hours for labs!) XD
But the best thing is that i can drink my morning Nescafe before going to the classes! =D

I spent most of my vacation time working on our endless projects(..and welcoming endless guests too who came for Eid! )
I have this course that is called SP (system programming).By the end of the course we must come up with a simulator/assembler!The work is progressing really good,,iwas soo worried before, but now i can tell that it will be one of the best projects inshalla!
Working for this project is the most exciting thing i did since the micro lab! (^_^)y

I'll stop here for today!
Goodluck 4th year warriors! \(^0^)/

Microprocessor Interfacing LAB!

In this lab we are going to use the FLT-86k kit + the applications board. I believe this lab is going to be loads of fun as long as time wont squeeze me!! ^_^

The FLT-68K board:
&the applications board:

The application board have alot of things(DC motor, LEDs, Heat/movement/speed sensors & alot of things!!!!)
I think this lab is going to be of great help to our graduation project!

this semester is going to be a true practical engineering experience!
i ask God to be with us!(-_-;)y ...(a)

Microprocessor lab pics

Here are some pictures of the microprocessor lab project of the 2nd semester of last year.
I'm proud i could do such working system! ^^ one of my dreams was to work in such a project..and this lab came just in time.
We were a group of 2. Me & Ahmed-san =p

and a picture of my little pets : ANDy & ORy ! =D lool

Well hope you liked the pics. This semester i have a Microprocessor Interfacing LAB. We are going to do a lot of interesting things! I'll go through it to the end n i wont give up^^ hopefully it would be as successful as the micro lab was! (^_^;)
