Messing around with an LCD screen and Arduino board
An LCD screen that only supports English and Japanese katakana. Edited the driver to make it support Arabic.. only 4 characters are supported currently will continue working on it later..ZZZzz good night

Internet in my room
Now that's great! Finally I can use the internet in my room. Notice the bandwidth I have below :D

Robo-phones from SoftBank
Half a month ago, Softbank and TV Tokyo introduced the Toshiba made SoftBank 815T PB mobile phone which can transform into a robot figure.
It has enough AI to carry on simple conversations with the owner and show facial expressions on its screen.
This phone will be released soon, and I read that its related to a soon-to-be aired Japanese drama called "Ketai Sousakan 7".

Make the way for WiTricity
The story is not very new, but very interesting that it deserves a post.
I was always wondering if this idea can be feasibly utilized to totally free us from wires~...
A research team from MIT makes one step forward.
Will we see products in the near future stamped with a WiTricity logo? ^^
The story available in full at MIT news website
Dropping the technical details, it says that an MIT team experimentally demonstrated wireless power transfer, potentially useful for powering laptops, cell phones without cords.
They were able to wireless-ly light a 60W light bulb from a power source more than two meters away; there was no physical connection between the source and the appliance.
The MIT team refers to its concept as "WiTricity" (as in wireless electricity)
The story summary stops here, the following is a K chan blabla. You might get bored =p
It is said that the idea itself exists since a long time, but nobody tried to do actual work on it because there was no demand for such a system.
Why?
When you think about it, for example 10 years ago or older, mobile devices weren't widely used as they are now; so normally the devices were stationary and the power cord we all know would have done just fine.
But now, with the advances in mobile devices, I think it would be very nice if your mobile phone or laptop will recharge it self automatically without needing you to connect the power cord each time the battery goes down.
Or if the technology evolves more, we will no longer have the concept of a BATTERY ^^ ..this will really have its positives.
It's known that the power unit including the battery takes a great part of the size and weight of any mobile device.
If you want to try, remove the battery out of your laptop and see the difference in weight.
If we can get rid of batteries, the design of more compact mobile devices can become easier.
....unless this WiTricity technology would require us to integrate bigger power units!
Another concern that might pop up to the mind is the health impact of such technology.
And I think something else should be investigated. That is the impact of this wireless power transfer on the wireless transfer of data. In other words the interference that it might cause on data channels.
....Ooops....I'm so much into this now aren't I ??
Was I telling people from MIT what they should do?? wake up!wake up!^^;
To tell the truth, I am interested in the wireless technology, and I'm hoping to contribute to it's development some day....That's why I couldn't help but post about this, hope it finds some fans^^;
I just hope that this wont turn into a technical blog! =D

Wireless power transfer over two-meter distance, from the coil on the left to the coil on the right, where it powers a 60W light bulb. Members of the team that performed the experiment are obstructing the direct line of sight between the coils

....& what about BioComputers?!(^_^)
Would you like to INTERFACE your brain cells to a computer one day? =D
this topic is very interesting, i heard about it for the first time from Dr. Eldos.
How does it feel to be able to communicate with an MC68000 with your brain directly? ^^ check the links below!

Quantum Computers
From the famous Relativity of Einstein, we know that nothing can beat the speed of light.
Ever imagined that computing speed will reach the speed of light someday in the future.
HOW?
well, lets just remove the idea of representing data using 0's& 1's (or voltages in general) from our minds, since this would become a history one day.
Using light to transmit data isnt a new thing at all..what we are talking about here is STORING data using light! u might ask : how would we KEEP or STORE the light, shall we FREEZE it?
(loud laugh!)
But that's it! its true! see how to reduce the speed of light to a halting point!! :

Enjoy!

Microprocessor Interfacing LAB!
In this lab we are going to use the FLT-86k kit + the applications board. I believe this lab is going to be loads of fun as long as time wont squeeze me!! ^_^
The FLT-68K board:
The application board have alot of things(DC motor, LEDs, Heat/movement/speed sensors & alot of things!!!!)
I think this lab is going to be of great help to our graduation project!
this semester is going to be a true practical engineering experience! i ask God to be with us!(-_-;)y ...(a)

To Robo Fans!
One of the MANY ENDLESS things i dream of is to make my own robot,..well i guess part of this dream will come true in the graduation project we r going 2 make.
We need to decide on the car model we want to use for our project..this depends on the PCB we want to use & other peripherals that we might want to connect to it! This needs careful thinking...(-_-;)
Here are some interesting robot pictures i found on the web, ENJOY!

My old fellow
Hi everyone, let me introduce my best Japanese childhood friend! It's the MSX AX 170! (^_^)
i had this a long time ago..maybe when i was 6. And the great thing that i still have it and its still perfectly functional! (sure it is!:p is'nt it JAPANESE piece by piece?! ;p )
Once i opened the cover and looked the board inside. It's very interesting& i read that the processor in most models is a Zilog Z80 at 3.58MHz! Some newer models like MSX2+ use a MIPS RISC 16 bits at 14.38MHz ^_^! Mine was labeled with "Toshiba" and it is a Z80 too. Pictures:
Note : The MSX is a Japanese-Kuwaity (Japanese by hardware^^)company that focuses on arabic machines.
Hope u liked it!

Microprocessor lab pics
Here are some pictures of the microprocessor lab project of the 2nd semester of last year.
I'm proud i could do such working system! ^^ one of my dreams was to work in such a project..and this lab came just in time.
We were a group of 2. Me & Ahmed-san =p

and a picture of my little pets : ANDy & ORy ! =D lool

Well hope you liked the pics. This semester i have a Microprocessor Interfacing LAB. We are going to do a lot of interesting things! I'll go through it to the end n i wont give up^^ hopefully it would be as successful as the micro lab was! (^_^;)
